A dual-action implant for bone cancer surgery.

OncoGlass is a gallium-doped bioactive glass designed to be used as a bone filler in the cavity of the resected bone at the time of surgery. Its dual function is to support bone regeneration while exerting selective cytotoxicity against residual tumour cells in and around the surgical site.

Surgical Application

Designed for Bone Void Reconstruction

OncoGlass is intended to be used as a bone void filler at the site of tumour resection. The moldable consistency of the putty allows it to be custom-fit to the surgical defect.

OncoGlass can be manually implanted or delivered with a syringe depending on the geometry and accessibility of the defect.

As the material gradually resorbs, it releases gallium ions locally while supporting bone regeneration at the implant site.

Our Value

Rethinking bone cancer reconstruction

Dual-action

One implant offering two functions: local control of residual cancer cells and scaffolding for bone regeneration.

Localised treatment

Gallium ions are released directly at the surgical site avoiding systemic toxicity.

Selective cytotoxicity

In vitro evidence shows selective effects against bone cancer cells, and not healthy cells

Mouldable

The putty consistency allows custom fitting to irregular defects.

Resorbable

The material is gradually resorbed as new bone forms.

Local control where radiotherapy is not an option

The location of some tumours makes adjuvant radiotherapy contraindicated.

WHO IT’S FOR

Who OncoGlass is for
